Soils, Governance and Society
Welcome to the website of the Soils, Governance and Society Workshop to be held in Iceland in the first week of June 2012.
The workshop will bring together a small team of selected scholars and practitioners from a variety of disciplines and countries to explore how natural resource governance might be radically improved to meet the many challenges to sustainability. The particular biophysical case study we will
use is soils, which are of course foundational (along with water and energy) of natural environments.
The sponsors of the scholarly collaboration that is the genesis of this research include the Soil Conservation Service of Iceland, Penn State University and the University of New England.
